Would like to be a DJ? I know, for that you need a DJ software, they are very expensive, but don’t worry, there is one that is for free download, is called the Mixxx! This is a open source DJ application, it runs on Windows, Linux and MacOS. After one year developing, the team of Mixxx put available the last version Mixxx 1.11.0 and it has great features. This open source is an excellent alternative to the big commercial applications, with this application, you have over 30 DJ MIDI controllers, beat syncing, excellent for beat detection, beat grid adjustment, looping and sampler decks, iTunes library integration, supports multiple audio interfaces, color waves, with 3 colors, new Beatloop Rolls effects, widgets temporaries, session history, new skins and much more!

To install on Ubuntu, open a terminal and type the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mixxx/mixxx
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mixxx libportaudio2

With the technology around us, each day we are getting closer to the world, nowadays we have (almost) access to everything you want at your fingertips. We can check the weather, it is possible to see a place in anywhere through an online webcam, we can track our purchases; well we can see a lot of things over the internet. Recently I found a website called Flight Radar 24, this website shows a map with all commercial airliners in real time, you can track every aircraft equipped with an ADS-B transponder, which for Europe is about the 70% of all airplanes. The amazing thing on the website is that you can click your mouse on any aircraft to see a photo and details of departure and destination locations. But there is incredible feature, you can also select “cockpit view” button which gives you a simulated pilots eye view, but to use it you need to install Google Earth plugin. According the website there are more 500 receivers around the world that capture and send information to the service. Check this out and be surprised to see just how many aircrafts are in the sky!

Nowadays there are lot of people that are using wireless bandwidth on laptops. A lot of users have wireless bandwidth service with monthly limit. So, for those users I found a useful tool called SharePlus Bandwidth Meter which allows you to control the bandwidth traffic during the current month.
