Rome Reborn 1.0, Institute for advanced technology in the Humanities at the University of Virginia collaborated on a project to create a digital model of ancient Rome as it appears in late antiquity. The notional date of the mode is June 21, 310 AD.
The project is called “ Rome Reborn” in homage to the founding text of the field of Roman topography, De Roma instaurata of Flavio Biondo (1444-46).
The picture above shows the back steps of the Rostra in the Roman Forum with columns capped by statues of famous leaders. The Basilica Aemilia is in the background on the left. Back right the Basilica Julia, first built by Julius Caeser, which house law courts. Check it out.
